Summer evening drive.
Took myself on a much needed little evening drive earlier. I picked up an iced chai for the road (because you always need a good beverage for a road trip) and set out with the intention of seeing how far north I could get. I took country roads that led through corn fields and farm land, and ended up winding through the Main Street of a few small towns, bustling with people out on the sidewalks enjoying the beautiful summer evening.
I could’ve kept driving forever. Definitely until sunset. It would’ve been so beautiful to have watched the sun set over a farm or small town.
I was feeling the itch to just get out and get away for a bit. And a solo mini road trip with the windows down and the music up was just what I needed.
(Next time though, it’d be great to have someone along in the passenger seat…)
